Colbert Report: UK Broadcasting Status

I get a lot of traffic to my site looking for information on the broadcasting status of The Colbert Report in the UK.

To clarify the situation, until May 2009 you were able to watch the Colbert Report in the UK on the FXUK channel. For whatever reason, FXUK did not choose to renew their contract, (a little birdie at FX informed me this was due to poor ratings).

Comedy Central suspended the ability to stream full episodes from the official Colbert Report website when FXUK originally agreed to broadcast the show in the UK, and as of writing the website still reads:

Dear Great Britain,

We’re terribly sorry, but full episodes of The Colbert Report are not available. But please don’t send any Red Coats in retaliation at this time, as you CAN experience the truthiness at FXUK.

Communication with Comedy Central to restore streaming access to the UK has met with frank indifference, so until Viacom realise they are missing out on potential advertising revenue, I point all loyal UK Colbert fans to PirateBay.
